If I go a couple of miles, stop, turn it off, and restart it, the light goes out. The light is only on when the car is cold. Actually the same thing applies to the M3 SMG cars as well. The implementation of the SMG in the Z4 was the worst of all of the other models. They worked on it with upgrades and software enhancements, but it was generally not that good. May explain why it's not available any longer.

95 zf 5 speed transmission issues,, Ok I have searched and there is very little on the zf transmissions in the rebuild category due to lack of tools and parts. I have a used unit out of a 95 M3 that has a growl/whirl at idle. You push the clutch in and it goes away. let the clutch out and its at it again. Cold or operating temperature its there 5. Transmission and transmission lines temperature was checked with IR temperature gun. Heater core inlet is about 10-15F higher compared to outlet port. Inlet temperature at the core is about 210 when INPA is reporting 200F as well. Transmission pan temperature is also around 190-200F while INPA is reporting 200F.
