All E46's have what you described the 325i has. The major difference is the 325i is newer, heavier, and a slight more HP (less torque though). A manual over an automatic has a much larger difference than a 323 vs 325. A manual 323i will walk all over an automatic 328i in comparison. (from personal experience)
